C5-1800 Wet Metal Dust Collector | 1,800 CFM
Our systems are designed to help safely capture common combustible metals like aluminum, magnesium, titanium, tantalum, zirconium, niobium, zinc, and alkali metals.
How do these machines capture dust?
Metal particulate is pulled in while a precision-balanced fan violently agitates the interior water. The resulting dust and water mixture is then forced upward in a wave motion within internal baffles that ensure the dust stays submerged. Gravity then forces the dust to settle in a collector sump.
Why is a wet dust collector safer than a dry collector for combustible dust?
Wet dust collectors actively suppress spark-ignition risks and extinguish stray sparks at the source using water, helping to significantly reduce the threat of fires and explosions. Dry dust collectors, on the other hand, pose a significantly higher risk with metal dusts because combustible particulates can explode within the dry system itself.
Our dust collectors really can be used in numerous industries but we often see them well suited in industries such as automotive, aviation/aerospace, and machining industries, as well as military and navy-oriented industries. This is because our dust collectors are ideal for combustible metal dusts that are produced when grinding, sanding, or finishing metals like titanium, aluminum, etc.
Our wet dust collection systems feature custom table sizes, an OSHA/NFPA-compliant electrical panel, pneumatic and electric power outlets, a wheel grinding fixture, removeable deflector walls, and beyond. Additionally, all of our machines are tested and run before they leave our shop to ensure that CFM production is correct and that water doesn’t migrate out of the machine. This is essential because correct water levels ensure that dust collectors don’t weep, seep, or leak.
