The Cantek P508HV 20” Planer has a solid steel helical cutterhead with two-sided carbide knife inserts that require no adjustments when changing. With a digital readout and simple PC controller, setting the table height is quick, accurate, and easy. The frame is made from heavy cast iron with known vibration damping resulting in long bearing life and superior cut quality. The planer’s segmented, serrated infeed roll & segmented pressure shoe ensures material is held firmly during the feeding and planing process The P508HV planer has a quick-set micro-adjustable lever that easily raises and lowers the table rollers to aid in the feeding of difficult to feel wood. The industry standard 30×12×1.5mm carbide insert knives are positioned by two pins and held buy a gib and screw which do not require any special tools to set the height. The knives have a slight bevel in the corners which provide for a superior finish without any stepping between the knives. In addition, the knives sit vertically into the head which produces a proper cutting angle and gulley to allow for superior cutting depth.
- Spiral Insert Knife Cutterhead - The spiral insert knife cutterhead provides a smooth finish with superior stock removal, and ultra-quiet cutting operation. 2-sided solid carbide insert knives can be easily rotated for a new sharp cutting surface.
- Sectional Feed & Safety System - Equipped with sectional kickback fingers, sectional spring-loaded serrated pressure rollers, and sectional pressure shoes for the most positive and safe feeding operations. Also equipped with double non-marking smooth outfeed top pressure rollers.
- Idle Bed Rolls - Equipped with adjustable idle bed rollers which can be raised and lowered to facilitate in feeding difficult material. The rollers are directly opposed from the top driven feed rollers. The table surface is ground and polished to provide minimal friction.
- Table & Bed Roll Adjustment - The idle bed rolls are conveniently adjusted from the front of the table. The eccentric cam allows you to raise and lower the bed rollers and can be locked in place for optimum feeding results on both rough and smooth material.
- User Friendly Controls - Equipped with digital thickness control with dual INCH/Metric display. The digital control allows you to quickly and accurately adjust the table for precise thickness setting. Equipped with a variable speed drive for adjusting the feed speed to obtain the optimum feed rate.
- Dust Hood & Knife Changing - An efficient 6” dust port removes wood chips to provide a clean working surface with superior finish results. The lid of the machine is lifted for easy access for changing knives and the dust port is hinged to it does not have to be removed during this process.
